We could not quite believe it when the directors approached us and were interested in using our gondolas for a part in their Movie Kandasamys The Wedding! We felt so honoured to be a part of this process and amazing movie.

What is the movie about?
Kandasamys The Wedding is a truly South African production that can be categorised as a romantic comedy with some good old South African drama mixed in. Written by Rory Booth and Jayan Moodley and directed by Jayan Moodley. It is a sequel to Keeping up with the Kandasamys which was released in 2017. This 2019 sequel was a smashing success and was rated as one of the best South African films. It is 127 min long and every one is a complete delight! Cinematography is done by Justus de Jager and the music compliments of Chris Letcher.
A sequel, Trippin’ with the Kandasamys, was released in 4 June 2021.

Welcome to the world of neighbours on the verge of becoming one big, happy family – The Kandasamys and the Naidoo’s. It’s been a few years since Jennifer Kandasamy and Shanthi Naidoo rekindled their once tainted friendship and the two could not be happier that their children Jodi and Prishen are to be wed. It’s the week before the big day and emotions are heightened.

It’s colorful, loud, vibrant, and spirited as everyone gets into the wedding week mood. Jennifer holds the reigns for all the wedding preparations and Shanthi focuses on the festivities held by the bridegroom. The story weaves against the backdrop of an Indian South African wedding and Jodi and Prishen’s love is put to task by the ones who claim to love them the most – their mothers. Jennifer and Shanthi have to learn how to let go of their children so that they can be happy and in turn realize that in the end, their children’s happiness is the source of their own.
