Hot Air Ballooning is a gentle activity that is suitable for all ages. It is however weather dependant so make sure to check that forecast before booking.

How does a hot air balloon work?

 Hot air balloons work because hot air rises. Using the burner to heat the air inside the balloon makes it lighter than the air outside. As a result, the balloon floats upwards as if it were in water. As the air cools, the balloon begins to slowly come down.  

How much is a hot air balloon worth?

Commercial hot air balloons cost around R1, 472 905 – R1, 681 033. Depending on the type of fabric, basket complexity, and burner model, the cost could reach R2, 081 279.and higher. The average hot air balloon carries six to twenty people.
 

What kind of fuel do hot air balloons use?

Hot air balloons carry 75 to 150 litres of propane. The gas is stored in stainless steel fuel tanks.
